Gamifying Eye Health on Twitch

How do you demonstrate the discomfort of dry eyes to viewers on Twitch? We transformed the streaming experience itself into a live demonstration, turning eye strain into an interactive gameplay challenge.

Bepanthen Germany needed to connect with gamers in an authentic, non-intrusive way that went beyond traditional product placement. Using StreamAlertsTV, we developed custom interactions across 2x2-hour sponsored broadcasts with Twitch talent from Germany.

Distorted Vision Effect

A transparent blur overlay gradually obscured the gameplay, simulating how dry eyes distort vision during extended screen time. As the effect intensified, the talent's performance suffered, creating genuine frustration that resonated with the gaming audience.

The solution? Chat intervention. When viewers spammed !Bepanthen in chat, the product packaging appeared on screen, and the blur lifted, visually demonstrating the immediate relief Bepanthen eye drops provide.

Strobe Effect Disruptions

Complementing the blur, brief blackouts mimicked the involuntary blinking caused by severe eye dryness. Manually triggered by our production team, these interruptions escalated in frequency, building tension before Bepanthen restored visual clarity.
